Guide for Authors

Guidance on how to write submit an article for the journal quarterly Geographical Studies of Coastal Area:

1- Accepting the article is only possible through the Quarterly Website (https://hgscaj.guilan.ac.ir/?lang=en). To sign up for the Geographical Studies of Coastal Area Quarterly site for article submission, please follow the steps below:

- Login to https://hgscaj.guilan.ac.ir/contacts?lang=en. Welcome to the Quarterly of Geographical Studies of Coastal Area site

- Click the (login) option, then click the word (log in). The registration page will appear. Once the registration page is complete, click the Save option at the bottom of the page, then go to your E-mail and receive your username and password.

- Enter your login and password this time and use the Online Quarterly Services.

Note: It is worth noting that you can use this username and password both for review and submitting your articles.

2. Geographical Studies of Coastal Area Quarterly, because of its specialization, it only accepts articles on topics related to coastal research.

3. The article submitted for this publication was not submitted simultaneously to other journals.

The official language of the journal is Farsi, but abstracts in English are also necessary.

5. In addition to the Persian abstract (350 words), the article should include keywords, introductions, materials, methods, conclusions, references and extensive abstracts.

- Extended abstract should have the following structure:

Introduction, Research Method, Discussion and Results, Conclusions, Keywords, References

Extended Abstract: Introduction, Methods and Materials, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, Keywords, References. 

6. The article should be a research product of the author or authors.

7. Articles prepared by postgraduate and PhD students in collaboration with supervisors or advisors must necessarily be sent to the journal by the signature of the professor, otherwise they will not be submitted to the editorial board. At the same time, the author in charge and the author's names will be listed in the same order as the site, and will remain unchanged.

All articles submitted if a student or non-faculty member is one of the authors should only be submitted to the journal by one of the authors; otherwise the article will not be reviewed.

8- Articles submitted to the journal, in the Word with B Nazanin thin font 12 (for English abstract with Times New Roman 10 font) . The approximate distance between rows shall be types as 1. The margin is 4 cm from the top, and 3 cm bottom, right and left. Article Title with Font Titr 14, Author or Writer Specifications with Font Titr 10, Farsi Abstract with BNazanin Black Font 10, List of Text Titles with Font BNazanin Black Font 11, Sources and References with Font BNazanin Font 11.

9- Article in three separate files including one file, author or authors’ profile page as described in paragraph 10 of this manual and Word, the second file contains the original article in the Word environment without the author profile page, the third file contains the original PDF article without the author profile page .

10. Submitted articles should have the following sections:

First Page:

- Scientific rank and name of the institution or place of employment of the author or authors in Persian and English.

- Corresponding author's full address: Including postal address, telephone number, fax number, and e-mail address in Persian and English. The above specifications should not be mentioned in other pages of this article.

- If the funding for research or paper preparation is provided by an institution, the name of the institution should be included in the footer of the first page. Obviously, the first page should be in PDF format and sent in a separate file as a cover letter. 

Page 2: Full title in Persian, Persian abstract (maximum 350 words), Persian key  words (maximum 5 words).

From page 3 on wards, the main text of the article, including: Abstract, Introduction, Theoretical Principles, Introduction to the Study Area, Materials and Methods Including; Research Findings and Analysis of Findings and its Subsections , Conclusions, Suggestions, Resources and References. 

11. Reference should be made to the text of the article by the APA method; in parentheses with the author's last name, year of publication, page used.

       Example of How to Refer to Text: (Yasoori, 2009: 209)

12. Put the English equations on each page in the footer with the independent numbering mark for each page.

13. Method of Submitting Resources at the End of the Article:

13. Family name, name of author (s), (year of publication). Cover number. Printing time, place of publication, publisher name. The list of sources and references will be in alphabetical order.

13.2 Example of the book: Yasoori, Majid (2015). Introduction to Rural Economy, Rasht: University of Guilan.

13.2 Examples for the Journal: Yasoori, Majid (2009). Investigating the situation of regional inequality in Khorasan Razavi province, Geography and regional development, 8 (12). 223-201.

14. The resources used shall not be less than 20.

15. The units used in the article must be in the metric system.

16. In the text of the article, mention the number of pictures, tables and diagrams and specify their approximate location.

.In setting tables, curves, shapes, and images, the following is     

 required:

A. The information in the tables should not be repeated in a curve or otherwise in the article. List the number and title at the top of the table.

B) Each column of the table must have its own title and unit, if all the figures in the table have the same unit, the unit can be named in the table title.

(C) Additional descriptions of the title and table text, provided as captions. The results of the statistical surveys should be reflected in one of the scientific methods in the table and should not exceed two tables per page.

D- The shapes of each article include a curve, a diagram, a photograph, and a map, all numbered equally as a figure. The shapes should be in color or black and white and of good quality and the number and title should come down. Photographs should be clear and scalable. References to photographs or figures derived from other sources are required, while also referring to tables or charts, drawings, diagrams and forms produced by the author or authors.  For example (Source: Authors, 2014)

17. Articles submitted by two expert professors will be treated in confidence.

18. The author of the correspondence shall be responsible for the accuracy of the article in scientific and legal terms.

19. Translation articles are not accepted at all.

20. The maximum volume of articles, including tables and curves, is 20 A4 pages.

21. The quarterly reserves the right to reject or accept and to edit articles and to refuse to return articles.

22. Upon final acceptance of the paper, part of the costs of arbitration, printing, submitting, and so forth will be borne by the author or authors.

23. Upon publication of the article, up to three copies of the quarterly containing the authors' articles will be submitted to them.

24. The original articles rejected or canceled will be removed from the archive collection after three months and the quarterly will have no responsibility whatsoever.
